Here Auntie Beth

Little Eva is now 4 months old but I guess I shouldn't say little. This week I had to take her in for her 4 month check-up and after weighing her, I was told she's a healthy 17 lbs 1 oz. :) We haven't even started her on rice cereal, but it's good to know she's healthy and doing well just on milk. We had a fun time in Portland last week with Auntie Beth and Uncle Stevie. Although Eva's too little to remember, we took the kids to the zoo and had a lot of fun walking around looking at the animals. Eva is getting cuter and cuter...especially after the haircut we gave her. :) For some reason, her hair decided to grow in little patches all over, so we just trimmed it up and she's looking good. Daddy can't get enough of his little girl! She's a sweetheart and is really trying to roll over on her own. We'll see what happens!

Big Girl :)

On Monday I took Eva to the doctor for her 2 month checkup. Joshah and I have been commenting lately that she feels and looks bigger! Well, we found out she's a very healthy little girl. She now weighs 13 lbs 12 oz and is 24 1/2 inches long. That means she gained over 4 pounds and 2 1/2 inches since her 10 day checkup. The funny thing to me is that it doesn't seem like she eats that much, but I guess she's getting enough! :) It's been really fun lately because anytime you look at her and start talking, she gets a huge grin on her face and starts cooing and talking back to you. It's fun to see her head turn when she hears her daddy talking in the other chair! She's in love with her daddy (and her mommy)! :) Judah can't wait for her to start playing with him!! He still tries to touch her as much as he can and gives her kisses like it's nobody's business. The other fun thing about having Eva is getting to dress her. She somehow got great coloring (not from her very white mother :)) and looks so cute in purples and reds and browns, etc. I know I'm a little biased, but I can't help saying that she's a little doll!

New Hat

This past weekend we went to Missoula to visit Joshah's side of the family. It was really nice to see everyone and hang out for a few days. Uncle Jonathon and Auntie Tia bought a beautiful new house, so we were very comfortable and Judah had tons of room to run and play. It was the first time for a few members of the family to meet Eva, so they were pretty excited to get to see and hold her. Auntie Sarah busted out her crocheting skills and crocheted Eva the cutest hat for the months to come. She did a great job and Eva looks pretty dang cute with it on. It was a work in progress and I've decided to include a few early pictures before the final product. Thanks again Auntie Sarah!

One Month

Eva turned one month old last week. It's hard to believe time has gone by that fast but with having two little ones, it makes sense. Life seems to be a blur of changing diapers, feeding, cuddling, and changing more diapers. :) Eva is a great baby and is a wonderful addition to our family. It's been fun getting to dress her in all the girlie clothes. You never knew hearts, flowers, and butterflies could be so cute. It's funny to see the differences between her and Judah even at such a young age. Things from how she holds her hands when she sleeps, to how her lashes curl up at the end, to how she cries when she needs comforted. She's definitely a little lady! I'm sure life is only going to get crazier in the months to come, but I love having my little boy and my little girl!

Birthday

Justify FullEva Joy was born July 13th at 1:28 am. She weighed a solid 9 lbs and measured 21 1/4 inches long. She came out having dark brunette hair and darker skin which was a surprise to us all! She and Judah have completely different looks, but what's crazy is that Joshah and I both had dreams that she was going to be a brunette. Eva had the biggest cheeks I'd ever seen when she was born and looked like a little Eskimo! :) She did have some slight jaundice, but praise God, that cleared up within a couple days! She's been an incredible baby so far, usually sleeping through the night from 10 pm to 4:30 am. She's definitely a girl though and lets you know when she wants to be held or if something is bothering her. Judah loves his little sister SO much and is always showering her with kisses and touching her head. He gets a very concerned look on his face when she cries and likes to sing her songs. It's been a little crazy having two kids, but we're all adjusting to the new blessing in our family. I'm pretty sure she has her daddy wrapped around her finger! :) I've been thanking God for answering my prayers. I have such an amazing husband who is a terrific father to our children, and my kids are incredible!! I couldn't ask for more!!
